We have both natural and composite turquoise. What is composite turquoise? Composite turquoise is a product that has been constructed by pulverizing poorer grades of turquoise to a dust and then bonding the dust with a resin. Our composite turquoise beads are marked as such. Some other stones in this section are indeed turquoise, but are dyed to create some bright and unusual colors. We also have interesting and unique turquoise pendants to match, so be sure to check those out as well!
SmartBeadShopping™ Tip: Smell it and you can tell it! If you're looking at turquoise in a bead show or shop and you're not sure, give it a sniff! You can actually smell the resin that is used in composite, or reconstituted, turquoise. Learn more in our gemstone glossary.
These turquoise chips are substantial and fill out a necklace strand nicely. I used it in a necklace with a 35mm turquoise coin pendant and some silver-plated round beads, and it is a thing of beauty. Plan to get more of these chips.

I've been looking for these overlapping turquoise coin beads ever since I saw a necklace made from them. I restrung them when they arrived and added a beautiful clasp. They are absolutely beautiful and the fact that they're graduated makes them all the more special. I hope you will carry other graduated coin strands in different precious stones. Thank you Aunties Beads for a great web site too. Love Karla's videos.
