"Ice Ice Baby" Bracelet

These aqua opal ab rondelles remind me of icicles! One of the best gifts you can give a girlfriend for Christmas is something to wear on New Year's Eve. This bracelet is perfect for that. It would make a cute choker too, if you try it longer.

Instructions:

Note: You may find it helpful to look at a photograph of the piece while you weave in order to make the instructions more clear. You might also keep a pair of tweezers handy.

Step 1. Use your nipper tool to cut 2, 24" pieces of beading wire. Crimp one end of each piece to separate, adjacent holes on your 4-strand clasp. String a 3mm sterling silver round on each piece. Trim the excess wire so that it strings back through the round.

Step 2. String 2 black seed beads on each strand. On your right strand, string a silver lined crystal seed bead. Take your left strand and string it through the same silver lined crystal seed bead, but going in the opposite direction. Pull on each strand and you should create a semi-circle, with your silver lined crystal bead at the top. Repeat this process until you have 9 more of these loops.

Step 3. To attach your aqua opal ab rondelle, you will basically do the same thing you did in step 2, except you put 3 black seed beads on each strand, instead of two. The rondelle will go where the silver lined crystal bead went in step 2. Make one regular loop like you did in step 2 after the rondelle, and then strand a second rondelle just as you did the first. Complete the other side of this part of bracelet just as you did the first side. Be careful that you are crimping to the correct loops!

Step 4. Repeat steps 1-4 on the other two loops of your clasp. Then, cut 2 more 24" long pieces of beading wire. Crimp them to the 2 center loops.

Step 5. String a 3mm round and 2 black seed beads on each strand. Put a silver lined crystal bead on 1 strand, then string the other strand through the bead going the opposite direction to make a semi circle, as you repeatedly did in step 2. The difference for these 2 strands, is that now, instead of adding black seed beads, you will string through the black beads that are already there from the weaving you did in steps 2 and 3. You will string them through the 4 (2 on each side) centermost, existing black seed beads, and then string them both through a silver lined crystal bead in the center, going in opposite directions. We are basically connecting the two woven bead lines you created in steps 2 and 3. Continue this process until you reach the center of the bracelet.

Step 6. After your final silver lined crystal bead, string each strand through the 5 centermost black seed beads. Then string them going in opposite directions through the large aqua opal ab rondelle. String them through the 4 centermost black seed beads on the other side of the rondelle and continue down the bracelet as you did in step 5. Crimp each strand to the 2 innermost loops on your clasp. Trim the excess wire.

Good Work!
I like the understated elegance, with just a touch of color. Particularly if you're looking to sell jewelry to a younger crowd, you should pay a lot of attention to Kelly's work. She has the touch.

Very Cool
I have a few friends that have been looking for a cuff-like bracelet to make and I am sending them the link to this project. This bracelet looks fun to make and I plan on trying it with different colors as well although the colors she uses are lovely!
