Materials and Tools Needed:

4mm Swarovski Crystal Bicones, 22 pieces
6mm Swarovski Crystal Bicones in a color that contrasts or blends nicely with the 4mm bicones--17 pieces
6mm Swarovski Crystal Bicones in a light color that contrasts or blends nicely with the 4mm and 6mm bicones; this color will be the outer ring of the pendant--8 pieces
3 feet of Supplemax
GS Hypo Cement
Mini Snip Shear

Pendants shown are in the following Combinations:

4mm Metallic Blue (22 pieces) and 6mm Titan coated crystal (25 pieces)
4mm Smoked Topaz (22 pieces), 6mm Olivine (17 pieces), 6mm Golden Shadow (8 pieces)
4mm Jet Hematite (22 pieces), 6mm Black Diamond (17 pieces), 6mm Crystal Silver Shade (8 pieces)

ABBREVIATIONS: A--4mm bicone B--Color used on the inside of the pendant, nearest the circle of 4mm bicones C--Color used in the outside edge of the pendant Note Supplemax has been highlighted in red and black in some images so it can be seen better. INSTRUCTIONS:   1. Pick up 8 A. Bring 7 of the A to the center of your thread. Put 1 A at the end of your left thread. Cross over with the right thread through the last A added on the left. Pull your threads up evenly so the bicones move to the center. You should have a circle of A. See image 1a *HINT* You will be turning your piece counterclockwise as you work, weaving around this circle of 4B. 2. Pick up 1 B, 1 C, and 1 B with the left thread. Cross over with the right thread through the last B added. See image 1b. 3. Position your piece so the B, C, and B just added are to the left. Weave the R thread through the A just above where the thread is emerging. See image 1c. 4. Pick up 1 C and 1 B with the left thread. Cross over with the right thread through the last B added on the left. See image 1d. 1a 1b 1c 1d Click on pictures for a larger view. 5. Weave the right thread through the A just above where the thread is emerging. See image 2a. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 five more times. Remember to turn your piece as you work. The bicones you have added will be first to your left, then at the bottom, then to the right side. By the time you have finished repeating steps 4 and 5, you will have a circle of 8 As surrounded by a circle of 8 Bs, surrounded by a circle of 7 Cs.

7. Position your piece so the threads are the top of the piece. In this step, the top thread (the one running out of the B) will be the left thread and the bottom thread (the one running out of the A) will be the right thread. Take the right thread up through the B at the top of your piece. See image 2b. 8. Pick up 1 C with the left thread. Cross over with the right thread through the C just added. You have just completed the first side of your piece! See image 2c. 2a 2b 2c Click on pictures for a larger view.

9. Turn the piece over so the work you did in steps 1 through 8 is face down. Make sure the threads are at the top of the piece. Pick up 1 B and 8 A with the left thread. Weave the left thread through the A closest to the B just added (the one above the 8 A). See image 3a. Cross over with the left thread only. DO NOT use your right thread at this time. You are creating another circle of As. See image 3b. 10. Pick up 1 B with the left thread. Cross over with the right thread through the B just added on the left. See image 3c. 11. Position the piece so the threads are on your right side and are running left and right. Weave the right thread through the C just below the right thread. Weave the left thread through the A just below the left thread. *NOTE* Again, you will be turning your piece in a counterclockwise direction as you work. This time, your left thread will be the one closest to the inner circle of As and your right thread will be closer to the outside. See image 3d. 3a 3b 3c 3d Click on pictures for a larger view. 12. Pick up 1 B with the left thread. Cross over with the right thread through the B just added. See image 4a 13. Position your piece so the Bs just added are at the top right-hand side of the piece. Weave the right thread through the C just below the right thread. Weave the left thread through the A just below the left thread. 14. Repeat steps 12 and 13 four more times. Remember to keep turning your piece as you work so all of the work just completed moves in a counterclockwise direction as you add new beads and reinforce the inner and outer circles. See image 4b. 15. After step 14 is completed, you should have 7 Bs around the circle of 8 As. Pick up 1 B with the left thread. Cross over with the right thread through the B just added. Position your piece so the threads are on your right side and are running left and right. The left thread will be the one closest to the circle of As. See image 4c. 16. Weave your right thread through the C above where your right thread is emerging. See iamge 4d

17. Pick your piece up so you are looking down on it. The right thread will be the one coming out of the C at the top. Weave your right thread down through the B to the right of the thread. See image 5a. 18. Weave your right thread through the A to the left of the thread. See image 5b. 19. Weave your right thread the B directly above the right thread. Your thread should now be coming out of the top of your piece. See image 5c. 5a 5b 5c Click on pictures for a larger view. 20. Position your piece so it is flat again. You want the side that has the thread emerging near the circle of As to be facing up at you. Weave that thread through the 2 A just above where the left thread is emerging. See image 6a. Then weave that same thread through the B to the right of where the thread is emerging. See image 6b. Your right and left threads should now run parallel to one another. See image 6c. 21. Pick up the following on one of your threads: 3 A, 1 B, and 3 more A. Take the other thread through all the bicones just added. Your are creating the loop that acts as the bail.

6a 6b 6c 6d Click on pictures for a larger view. 22. Tie the threads in a square knot (right over left, left over right). Run your threads through nearby bicones so you do not have to cut the threads too close to the knot. Nip excess thread and apply a dab of Hypo Cement to the knot. *NOTE* You may need to adjust the bail slightly so it is straight. Do so before you apply the glue and nip excess thread. Simply twist the bail slightly into the desired position. 7a 7b 7c Click on pictures for a larger view.   MODIFICATIONS: 1. To make the Starburst pendant 2-toned instead of 3-toned, you will need to modify your materials slightly. You will still need 22 4mm bicones. You will need 25 6mm bicones. The difference is that all of your 6mm bicones will be the same color. 2. Every time the instructions call for you to pick up a B or a C, you will simply pick up a 6mm bicone. This might make it easier to learn this pendant if you are having difficulty working with 3 different colors.
