What a Trip! Part 2
Posted by Kelly on 2/8/2011 to Beading - General
Wednesday morning in Tucson, after a 24 hour travel fiasco, we finally hit the bead shows!  We got some really cute new steampunk items, like this vintage looking key charm and this adorable clock pendant.  The cool thing about the clock is we are also going to sell a bar separately, so you can buy and use it as a toggle or alone as a charm or pendant!  Choices are good!

These glue-in and glaze heart charms are also quite cute; we got them in all three colors.  They're around 20mm in width- the perfect size for a bracelet.  One designer put black and cream silhouettes in the gunmetal charms and hung them from chain.  Too fun!  I also love this little lock and key toggle.  These items all have a modern vintage feel!

Also coming soon: a silver plate bangle with a glue-in and glaze oval on the top, silver glue-in and glaze rectangle earring findings (my personal fav), a TON of freshwater pearls (even some faceted ones that were so gorgeous and like nothing I've ever seen), a couple new sterling silver clasps, and drum roll please...

Beading chain plated in every metal color you'd ever want!  With matching crimp ends of course!  Silver plate, gold plate, copper plate, gunmetal and even antique silver.  I'm dreaming already of all the illusion necklaces I'm going to make, as well as all the different color combinations I can do of my favorite beading project ever, A Modern Gal's Earrings.

We also got some gorgeous, laser cut wooden pendants and links that I am really excited to offer to everyone as we get ready for Spring 2011.  They're very swirly, delicate and high quality.  I'm really excited to pair them with leather and freshwater pearls for next season.  In particular there's a wooden donut pendant with flowers etched around it that's to die for.

We also have some resin flowers coming that are so springy and playful; they remind me of the rainforrest.  You can also look forward to some new beaded chain and be sure to check out the new products we managed to fit in Susie's suitcase and already have online: 6 colors of hand stitched and dyed silk ribbons!  Oh yeah... we got some great large hole Chinese Crystal rondelles to go with those as well... come on UPS hurry hurry!

On our last night in Tucson, it was nice to get all dressed up and go to the Swarovski party.  We put on our swanky outfits and went out to do some dancing. :-)  I was able to get a photo with the head of Swarovski sales for all of North America, which was pretty neat.

We had a great time in Tucson all in all, I just wish we had taken more photos!  But don't worry, by Thursday we should have a lot of the new products we purchased in and ready to photograph and put online for you guys!  I just hope we don't end up with a bunch more ice and snow keeping us from being able to get to work.  They are forecasting ice and snow for tonight.. so we'll see!
