Stripes and Swirls
Shanna Steele, Auntie’s Beads Designer
This bead is so unique and so fun, I immediately thought it would make a fabulous ring. A few gold beads and some wire later, I had just what I had envisioned: a ring that will make you want to stare at your hand all day long.
Instructions:
Cut a piece of wire measuring about 30 inches. Center 2 gold beads, your lampwork bead, and 2 more gold beads on the center of your wire. Bend both ends of the wire down. Place the wire on the ring mandrel at a size 1 larger than your desired size. For example, if you want a size 8, start your wrapping at a size 9. Wrap each wire around the mandrel 3 times so your band will have 6 wires. Remove your creation from the mandrel. Bring your wires to opposite sides of the beads. Wrap one end around the 6 wire band you created on the mandrel. Wrap it around the band 4-5 times. Cut the excess wire with your Nipper tool. Use your Crimper to tuck the end. Wrap the other wire in the same manner in order to finish your ring.
