Customer Reviews
Spinning Round and Round Ring
I love making rings and rondelles are perfect for that! Blue and brown is a hot color combination right now so turquoise and brown
artistic wire
just seemed like a natural choice!
Shanna Steele, Auntie's Beads Designer
Instructions:
If you have never made rings before, you might want to watch the
Wire Wrapped Rings
video. The
Bling Bling Ring
video will teach you how to create a perfect coil on top of the bead.
1. Cut a piece of wire measuring about 36 inches. Center it on the ring mandrel about one size larger than the desired size. For example, I wanted my ring to be a size 7 so I started at a size 8.
2. Wrap the wire around the mandrel 3 times on each side so your band will have 6 pieces of wire total. Bring your wires up and bend one at a right angle. Put the rondelle on this piece of wire. Move the other wire underneath the rondelle so it is off to the side.
3. Bend the wire on top of the rondelle so it is at an angle on top of the bead. Push down with your thumb as you turn the wire in a clockwise motion. Continue to turn the wire using your thumb to keep it anchored.
4. When you have the desired number of spirals, remove the ring from the mandrel. Pull your wire down and wrap it around the band. Wrap it 4 - 5 times. Cut excess wire.
5. Wrap the wire around the band on the opposite side of the bead. Cut excess wire. Use your chain nose pliers to tuck excess wire on the sides.
