Ruby Adams resides is from Galveston, Texas (birthplace of the present writer; same birthday as Susie Henderson, so clearly very special). She says she was busy enjoying life until life hit her hard with cancer. After that, she reevaluated some things, and making jewelry was a big part of her healing process.
Ruby's obvious talent is essentially self-taught, but she still gives much credit to others who have shared their artistic skills with her, including many online friends. Now she is giving back by willingly teaching others the art of beading and jewelry design.
We like the way Ruby combines macrame from the textile world with a number of weaving and stitching techniques, all in one elaborate piece. Another great element of her work is the creation of a recognizable artifact like an abacus, made from beads and copper wire, and used as a focal pendant.
