Mother's Day Book Marks
Whether you use our alphabet beads to spell "I love you," a person's name or simply "Mom," these personalized gifts are sure to please. I made three different color combinations that are all perfect for Mother's Day- which is coming up on May 8th.

Instructions:
Turquoise Variation:
1. Use scissors or your nipper tool to cut a 20 inch piece of beading wire. 2. Use tweezers to add a split ring to your butterfly and heart charms. 3. On one end of your wire, add a crimp bead. Then, string the wire through one part of the wire gaurdian. Place the split ring with your butterfly charm on it around the wire/wire gaurdian. Bring your wire through the other end of the wire gaurdian, back through the crimp bead going the opposite direction, pull so that about 1cm of extra wire sticks out, and crimp. String a swirly rectangle pewter bead, two 6mm turquoise rounds, letter beads to spell "MOM" (or a word of your choosing), two more 6mm turquoise rounds, another swirly rectangle pewter bead and then a pattern of 6mm turquoise rounds and groupings of five 8/0 galvinized silver seed beads until you have beaded about 14 inches. 5. To end your book mark, add a swirly rectangle pewter bead, two 6mm turquoise rectangles, a final swirly rectangle bead and then end your book mark the same way you began it in step (3), but add your heart charm. Tibetan Style Variation: 1. Use scissors or your nipper tool to cut a 20 inch piece of beading wire. 2. On a headpin, add an opaque orange seed bead and a Tibetan Style bead. Use your wire looping pliers to make a loop above the bead and wrap the wire around itself a few times. Trim the wire with your nipper tool. Repeat the entire process on another headpin. 3. On one end of your wire, add a crimp bead. Then, string the wire through one part of the wire gaurdian. Place the loop you made above your Tibetan Style bead in step (2) around the wire/wire gaurdian. Bring your wire through the other end of the wire gaurdian, back through the crimp bead going the opposite direction, pull so that about 1cm of extra wire sticks out, and crimp. String 3 opaque orange seed beads and 3 opaque yellow seed beads, than add a bali bead. Repeat. Then string on the name of the person you are giving your bookmark to in alphabet beads. On the other side of the name, add another bali bead and continue the seed bead/bali pattern for about 15 1/2 inches. Then end the book mark just as you began it, with a Tibetan Style bead on a headpin that you prepared in step (2). Disco Ball Variation: 1. Use scissors or your nipper tool to cut a 20 inch piece of beading wire. 2. On a headpin, add a 6mm bicone and a Disco Blues bead. Use your wire looping pliers to make a loop above the bead and wrap the wire around itself a few times. Trim the wire with your nipper tool. Repeat the entire process on another headpin. 3. On one end of your wire, add a crimp bead. Then, string the wire through one part of the wire gaurdian. Place the loop you made above your Disco Blues bead in step (2) around the wire/wire gaurdian. Bring your wire through the other end of the wire gaurdian, back through the crimp bead going the opposite direction, pull so that about 1cm of extra wire sticks out, and crimp. Then string on the word "LOVE," in alphabet beads. On the other side of the the word, add 2 more 6mm bicones and continue the 2 bicone/5 seed bead pattern for about 14 1/2 inches. Then end the book mark just as you began it, with a Disco Blues bead on a headpin that you prepared in step (2). Materials and Tools Needed:
