Rating Amazing tool

I love this tool! By rotating it around, it forms the crimp into what the looks like a 3mm bead. Now, I no longer need to use crimp covers that gives my necklaces and bracelets a fine finished appeal... Awsome! It also saves me money not having to buy the crimp covers, I consider that a win. win!

I purchased this item a month ago as I had a large order for bracelets, I had never felt confident using the other crimp tool and covers, also did not like the finished look. This tool is magic and so quick and easy to use. I feel confident now that my bracelets will not break, thank you again for great service, Regards Kay

Wow! So many reviews & so many beaders having trouble. Ladies it's not the tool & I doubt if it is you. So "WHAT ELSE" ? Use the Sterling 2X2 mm crimps & I bet you end up with a nice round bead. The silver filled are okay once you get the hang of it but because the Sterling is softer is why I think it works best. I very seldom use anything but the sterling crimps. If you are fraying the wire you are turning & strangling it. Use a soft touch. Watch Karla. Nice & easy. Good Luck!

Rating BeadSmith Magical Crimp Forming Tool For .014"-.015" Wire

I've used this tool and the one for larger diameter wire. As far as I'm concerned they are the best crimp tools made. As stated by some, they don't make the round crimps on first try. If you don't follow directions, and use different components (wire size, crimps, etc.)and don't have the patience to follow the directions don't blame the tool. I have been using both sizes and get great results.

I didn't find this tool all that easy to use, and I don't consider myself a beading doofus. I'm sure practice makes perfect, but at this point I still prefer crimp covers for a nicely finished look.

I was so excited to find a tool that forms a little bead when you crimp! I am still not too comfortable using this tool, but with practice, I am sure I will get the hang of it. Auntie's Beads offered the tool at a price that is lower than any of the local bead shops offer. I love to shop where the quality is high and the prices are affordable. Thanks Auntie's Beads!

I watched the how-to video a many times and read all the reviews on this tool and I still can't get the hang of it. I was able to get a "sort of" round bead but it still had rough edges. Forget "magical"it will be a "miracle" if I get it to work.

This is a must have tool. It took very little practice to turn out a beautiful beaded crimp. Everything looks so much more finished now. I am so glad to have found the Bead Smith Magical Crimp Forming Tool and the only place I have seen it is here at Auntie's Beads. Thanks to Karla Schafer too, for the video where I first saw this tool demonstrated.

Rating Having Trouble with this tool!

While I love the idea of this tool, I too am having troubles using this tool. When I make the "bead", I fray the stringing wire. It has resulted in breakage and returns on items. While I think it may be that I'm using it wrong, I'm disappointed that I'm having such trouble with it. I will continue to practice with it using inexpensive 2x2 crimps until I get it right!

I absolutely LOVE this tool! It might just be my favorite. I know it says to use it with smaller wire diameters, but I have found it works the best with .018 wire. It makes the perfect round bead and crimps the wire very well. I even use the end of the tool to help hold or pull Beadalon wire. This is a MUST for any beader!

Questions and Answers
Q: I have the Magical Crimper Tool with the yellow handle and can't figure out which size it takes. I usually end up smashing the bead. Your tools have green and purple handles. I thought mine were made by the same company because it has the same patent as the one you have on sale today. Do you have a clue if I may have the tool for .015 wire since it has the same patent number on the handle as shown in your picture? Thank you, Cynthia
Asked by: - 7/30/2014 (Submit an answer)
A: Cynthia,
Well Beadsmith had the tool to begin with. Then Beadalon got it. I just tried the pair you asked about with the Yellow handle, it is the tool to use with the .018 wire according to the packaging. Unfortunately the new tools do not mark them with the size as they did before. So I would suggest taking a sharpie, fine point and marking it with .018. Now the strange part is that I always suggested using the .015 pair for all wire up to .018, however it does not seem to be so with the new tool. So use the yellow for the .018. I will start using this tool, retire my old ones and write instructions appropriately. Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

Q: Since we use silver or gold filled crimps, what about when we are working with copper or brass beads in a bracelet? Seems like the crimps would stand out.
Asked by: - 8/13/2014 (Submit an answer)
A: To me that is the beauty of the Magical Crimp Forming Tool, it makes the crimp look like a 2mm round bead. If that is not your style then I would suggest using crimp covers. Karla

Q: Hi, I'm making beaded rosaries. Is this a sturdy method of crimping? I've tried the double crimp method with the other crimp tool and it doesn't hold up for me- the wire slides right out of the crimp. Flat crimping with regular pliers doesn't look finished and pretty enough. Thanks in advance for your help
Asked by: - 10/28/2014 (Submit an answer)
A: If you are crimping onto a single piece of wire, than this will not work for that purpose. It needs double the wire to make a tight crimp.
