| I am One in a Million!
Okay my Crochet Necklace
Video has hit one million
Karla Kam has hit over one million views, I really can't figure this out, really!
I remember when they decided that we were going to do these videos...I said, oh no, I am not doing that! Well how many years and hairstyles later, we are still filming! I have been through a few changes, hair styles, photographers, four I think...projects and tools galore! And just when I think I am tapped out, you the consumer will bring me back with a new technique you want to see or design! I have taught myself so many things to do these videos that I don't remember them all!
I was perusing the videos on YouTube and found some good ones and few that I didn't know I did! Oh well the memory isn't what I used to be!
I have to say that this is really weird, I actually got goosebumps when I was told we hit one million hits, on one video! I have had a few "star" sightings in the normal beading venues, Tucson, Bead and Button Show and others but the best was when I was having a celebratory breakfast with family at a local restaurant and that is when it happened. A lovely lady said, I know you...okay...my brain is trying to process where I knew her from, when she declared I was Karla from Karla Kam! I just about died! Another happened when my sister was reading a beading blog and saw one of my video's posted. She wrote the blogger telling her she was my sister. The blogger actually said Oh the famous Karla Kam!
But honestly if you all knew how I struggled in the beginning getting the nerve to do these. I do have a bit of anxiety when doing them now, but find it easier to be myself! You all have allowed me to do this, because the feed back is positive, for the most part. I do find it amazing that people will post negative comments about my physical appearance, nails, new hair style etc. but really, I do this because you all want to see it! The NAILS are mine and are not going away!
So here is to another one million views! Keep the ideas and comments coming, I really do like to hear what you think and do appreciate constructive criticism, after all I don't know it all, yet!
Thanks for being a fan!

Karla, YOU are one in a Million, I have watched many tutorials & nobody can come close to you. I have had many people ask me where I took lessons etc. in order to do the work I do. I always said that I was self taught, magazines,on line etc. But really I did have a teacher,Karla Kam. I remember, hope I am right, your first weaving one, being the right angle weave bracelet, you had lots of tutorials before that but the fact you had to learn all the stitches first, perfect them & then film them so we c

Congratulations to Karla & Auntie's Beads! I want to thank Karla for all the help she had given me in making it possible to create jewelry -- something I LOVE doing. Often books & magazines are not enough instruction for me; I have to SEE someone doing it. With Karla, I have that option & that makes techniques so much easier for me to accomplish. I love the Auntie's Beads website, product quality & selection, AND Karla's wonderful videos. Thanks for helping me find a hobby (maybe eventually a bu

Of all the videos of yours I have watched, this one was my favorite. It was the first one I could follow being a left hander. I was totally knocked off my rocker by the fact that I could make such a beautiful necklace (I used jet chips) and it's still in use. I still can't crochet worth a darn, but I can make a chain! Thank you and your nimble fingers with your beautiful nails. Congratulations!

I might just have been that "1million" viewer as I just checked it out this afternoon. You really are good at doing these videos & I do hope you continue to do so. I find them very helpful as I'm an amateur beader but learn so much from them. Keep up the good work!

Hi Karla! Congratulations on the one million views! What a milestone! And I'm not surprised at all! :)
I've been buying from Aunties Beads, and watching your videos since 2007. I can't tell you enough how helpful your video tutorials have been. You always look so cute, and I love your Texas accent. Beautiful, well-kept nails and hands. :)
Thank you for all you do!

Karla I have only been beading about two years but I stumbled upon your tutorials in the beginning when I was trying to learn. You were my inspiration then and still are, you do a very good job at what you do. Congratulations you deserve recognition. Keep the tutorials coming please, I look so forward to your videos. Much love and thank you for all you do.

Love your videos, Karla....you have reached a WELL DESERVED million views. It's always so much easier watching somebody demonstrate, and I'm sure you have taught thousands...heck, obviously MILLIONS of people how to bead. I would be nervous, too, making videos. Just think about this: you come INTO my bedroom, and sit on the end of my bed, and teach me how to bead. How crazy is that? Think of all the homes you have graced...we feel like we know you personally! :) Thank you for all your yea

I saw this video in 2011 and have made this project in so many different colors....It never occurred to me to crochet with wire...I went and bought all the colors and gauges I could find the next morning after seeing the video...Now I'm learning to crochet using different techniques...I love it and get so many compliments. I love your videos and when I saw the one for the one step looper...I had to have it because I love making drops....Your videos are awesome Karla and Congrats on being One In
