How I took a suggestion as a challenge!

How I took a suggestion as a challenge!
Part of my daily Auntie's Beads routine, is to pop on my Facebook and check out what everyone is doing. I also check to see if there are any questions and the like that need my attention. Well I found one on Tuesday...
Amanda, added a photo of a beautiful bracelet made by Elaine. Several comments ensued about the piece and inquiries to the Twisted Tubular Herringbone Stitch. Bam...there it is...Amanda asked me to do a Video on this stitch...okay just one problem...I don't know this stitch. I replied with a frantic "Someone find me some written instructions!" and I got a couple of links and started searching on my own.
I didn't have any pressing projects due, so I took this opportunity or "challenge" to learn something new. I stopped and started...ripped out several attempts...updating my progress in one of the longest strings I have had on Facebook! So many suggestions and help from you all! I finally posted that I had an inch and it was twisting.
I completed that bracelet...I was determined. Even picked it back up after getting the kids from school, finished just in time to start dinner...now I am whipped and it bit tense from this, but what a joy it was to do! What a great group of people, talented people that have touched us all in some way or another, all on a Bead Chat for Auntie's Beads!
Watch for the future Karla Kam on Twisted Tubular Herringbone Bracelet, funny how that bracelet matched what I wore today...I didn't do it on purpose but I couldn't wait to take it in the office and show them what I did, but the best part is why I did it, because you asked!
Thank you Bead Chat Beaders, you all make me feel special...

Yes, we have great group of Bead Chatters, now 592 strong and growing daily. See for yourself at: http://www.facebook.com/groups/beadchat/. And, by all means, keep Karla hopping with new requests, especially those involving seed beads (my pet line). ;-)

Thank you for the compliments to all of us. What I like best about our little/now big group is how positive and friendly everyone is. No one is jealous of anyones talent or success. Everyone cheers each others successes on and we cheer each other up through our failures. I have learned more tips/pointers, short-cuts, new patterns, new stitches, etc., through this group than in any other group I have been a part of...and everyone is much friendlier!! There is also someone out there with an answer

Way to go Annie Dale, I was an avid golfer & gardener until tragedy struck me also. Almost 10 years & 3 back surgeries, 2 spinal cord stimulaters & many (painful) needle injections, one specialist after another & I am left with damaged nerves in my legs & feet. Got started teaching myself to make jewelry & with God's help & Aunties Beads I am still going. Karla's videos have done so very much to help me keep going & learn new ways of making my pieces different & yes I am selling much & people now

Thank you Auntiesbeads. I know I can always rely on your website to teach me something new, or something I don't know how to do. Your site is how I learned how to make Jewelry period!! Now, 2 yrs later, I sell some of my Jewelry to the Public/Friends & Family. And often, I get compliments on the ""quality"" of my work and the question: "where did you ever learn how to do all this?, and I always tell them, "I learned everything right down to the "Basic's", all right on (1) websire and then I dire

Thank you Karla Kam, when I first decided to start making jewelry, well, I really didn't know where to start until I watched your video, esp. the one with the spacer bead bracer, I'm making one just like yours in the video and waiting on one more shade of bead to get here, but all you other videos have given me such inspiration to get started, Keep them videos coming, although I'm only halfway thru them..Thank you so much karla and Auntie's Beads for the great supplies!
