Melissa has been beading for about 7 years. Right now, she primarily enjoys working with wire but says she loves to combine different materials, such as leather, wire, sterling, and gemstones. She has a website, www.creekbeddesigns.com, where she sells her wearable art. She also participates in craft and home shows, completes custom orders, and sells pieces in local boutiques.

Melissa was inspired by an article she saw in a magazine about wire wrapped around gemstones. She tried it for herself and found it quite challenging. By the time she was done with her piece, she just knew she had to submit it to the 2008 Auntie's Beading Idol competition. This is the second time she entered the Idol competition; she was First Runner Up in the 2007 Auntie's Beading Idol contest. She had so much fun and was so "thrilled to make it to the Top 12", she couldn't wait to enter again!

Melissa has been married for 10 years. She has 6-year-old twin daughters "who are future jewelry designers". In addition to teaching Sunday school, she also actively participates in PTA. She loves spending time with her family and friends and says that she would like to thank her "friends and family for all their support. They made this so much fun!"
