I Love Memory Wire!!!
A few weeks ago I saw beautiful memory wire bracelets at a local card store/gift shop. Then when I saw on Karla's video how simple memory wire was to use, I was hooked! A memory wire bracelet is the jewelry item I will be making for family and friends this Xmas! Since the wire never loses it's shape, I was very surprised to see how thin it was. I was actually able to string a tiny 2mm Swarovski round crystal on it! And you can use any half drilled bead you want as an end bead.

Great for fun, fast bracelets
Love to use this wire with all kinds of beads and crystals. Makes a one-size-fits-all bracelet. Using multiple turns of the coil will make a "layered" bangle. Be sure to use a heavy duty cutter as this wire will ruin your regular wire cutters. I use my husbands shop wire cutters. The ends must be carefully turned with strong round nosed pliers to finish. Putting a dangle charm off this loop is a nice touch.

addictive!
I started making bracelets last fall for several craft shows and gifts for my daughters and granddaughters...I couldn't stop!! they go together so quickly and you can use many different beads...this wire is easy to work with and even my 3 year old granddaughter couldn't stretch them out!! (and she tried) I have made more than 80 of them and still going!! (yes, I have too many beads!!)

Large memory wire bracelet
This fits my wrist - especially since I like using large beads (which makes the bracelet smaller around). It doesn't lose its spring either after my curious 8 month old grandson yanks on it. I like to keep this memory wire on hand. Remember, you must not use your good wire nippers to cut this wire - you can only cut it with heavy duty cutters.

Questions and Answers

Q: The size 68mm is good, but it does not say how thick this memory wire is. I am looking for wire that is 1.2mm thick or 1.5mm thick (but not flat wire). Do you carry it?
Asked by: Arthur - 2/8/2014
A: Memory wire is a tempered steel wire that comes in a coil and retains its shape. Is that what you are looking for or are you looking for more of a craft wire that you can bend, shape and wire wrap? Wire is measured by the gauge. The smaller the number, the thicker the gauge, so 14 gauge is thicker than 22 gauge.

Q: Is their a 1.6 mm/14gauge memory wire ?
Asked by: Howard - 11/2/2014
A: Memory wire is a tempered steel wire that comes in a coil and retains its shape. It really does not come in different gauges like regular wire. We have this information: Stainless Steel bracelet memory wire, larger size (apx 2 3/4 inches/68mm diameter). Approximately 60 coils, 1 oz. Memory wire holds its form so your bracelet needs no clasp.

Q: how many bracelets can be made using this wire?
Asked by:  - 5/13/2015
A: There are about 60 coils of wire so it depends on how many coils your bracelets are. For a single coil I would cut about 1 1/2 coils. But if you want it to go around the wrist several times you would use more coils.
