Bed of Roses Bracelet

When Susie and I first saw these rose beads, it was love at first sight for me. I wanted to create a very vintage inspired piece with the roses as a centerpiece and the turquoise rounds seemed like a perfect backdrop. I hope you enjoy this bracelet as much as I do!

Instructions:
This bracelet requires knowledge of the no needle right angle weave technique. For more information, please watch the Right Angle Weave video.

1. Cut a piece of beading wire measuring about 36 inches. String the following: a seed bead, a 4mm round, a seed bead, a 6mm round, a seed bead, a 4mm round, and a seed bead.

2. String a 6mm round toward the end of the wire on the left hand side. Cross over through the 6mm round with the wire on the right side. Make sure you keep your beadwork centered as you pull the wires through the bead.

3. On the left side, string the following: a seed bead, a 4mm round, a seed bead, and a 6mm round. On the right side, string the following: a seed bead, a 4mm round, and a seed bead. Cross over with your right wire through the 6mm round on the left.

4. Repeat step 3 five more times. You should have a total of seven 6mm rounds up the center of the bracelet.

5. On the left side, pick up the following: a seed bead, a 4mm round, and a seed bead. On the right side, pick up the following: a seed bead, a 4mm round, and a seed bead. Run your left wire through the hole of a rose bead. Run your right wire through the hole of a rose bead in the opposite direction (so your wires are running out of the same bead but in opposite directions).

6. Run your left wire through the seed bead nearest the rose bead. Then pick up the following: a 4mm round, a seed bead, a 4mm round, and a seed bead.

7. Repeat step 6 on the right.

8. String a 6mm round on the left side. Cross over with the wire on the right.

9. Repeat step 3 one time.

10. Repeat steps 5 through 8 two more times. You should now have all 3 of your roses on your bracelet.

11. Repeat step 3 six times. You should have a total of seven 6mm rounds in the center of the bracelet after the last rose was added.

12. On the left side, string a seed bead, a 4mm round, a seed bead, a crimp bead, and another seed bead. Run your wire through one of the loops on one half of the toggle. Then run the wire back down through the seed bead, crimp bead, seed bead, and 4mm round. Use your chain nose pliers to crimp. Cut excess thread.

13. Repeat step 12 on the right side.

14. Thread a piece of excess wire through the 6mm round at the opposite end of the bracelet. Then repeat steps 12 and 13 to complete the piece.

Materials and Tools Needed:

Manmade Rose Bead, Red, 15mm (3 pieces)
Turquoise Round Strand, 6mm (18 pieces)
Turquoise Round Strand, Heat Treated, 4mm (50 pieces)
Miyuki Seed Beads, Matte Metallic Khaki Iris, 11/0 (about 1/8 package)
Sterling 2-Strand Twist Toggle, 15 mm
Crimp Beads, Bag of 50, 2 x 2mm (4 pieces)
Beadalon 19-strand Wire, 30 ft, .015 (about 3 feet)
Nipper Tool
Chain Nose Pliers
