Description

Artistic wire spool, 20 gauge, non-tarnish brass colored wire, 15 yard spool. 20 gauge wire is medium to heavy, great for earwires, clasps or larger beads.

Important Quality Note:

Beadalon is now the manufacturer of the Artistic Wire brand. You will note that in some older reviews there were some issues reported with peeling of the non-tarnish brass coating. Beadalon has made a number of improvements, and peeling does not seem to be an issue with the current product. Thanks for your reviews! Not what it once was
  I have always been happy with this particular wire until the last purchase a month ago. It used to look like gold. Now, the wire has a slight greenish tinge to it (almost like it is starting to tarnish) and really does not do any justice to anything that is wire wrapped. Too Bad, So Sad.

Great Product!
  I love this wire. I make jewelry and I use this wire to make hoop earrings. It has a nice shine (looks like gold) and is strong enough to hold its shape. I use 20 gauge for beads with smaller holes, but I like the 18 gauge if the bead hole will allow it. Vey easy to work with and doesn't tarnish.

Artistic Wire 20 Gauge Non-tarnish

Not the same quality
  The clear coating that makes this wire non-tarnishing peeled off. I've used this brass wire many times before (but haven't bought it lately). The coating on former spools stayed on so well I didn't even know there was a coating. I don't know if Artistic has lowered its quality standards, or if this was just a bum spool, but I couldn't use this wire and won't buy again, from anyone. No complaints about Aunties Beads. Their website, selection and service are great.

SO So
  It is stiff and hard to wrap. However a simple eye pin loop is not a problem. My biggest issue with this and the other artistic wire that I bought at the same time is that using pliers to loop or twist causes a clear coating to peeling off. Also if you hammer to texture the supposed permanent color comes off to show the original wire below. I'm disappointed given the price. This will be expensive practice wire. I wouldn't dare try to sell an item made with it.

Great Quality Artistic Wire!
  I was a little bit surprise with the quality of this wire, I must say the color is great is not that bright gold looking wire, is a really nice and subtle gold color. I purchased this wire because I want to used to create a few rings and I love the final result, is a bit tough to work with it but once you familiar with the texture is a breeze! I truly recommend this item is a great purchase for any jewelry artisan.

  I love the color of this wire. The fact that it's also non-tarnish make it a favorite in making my own ear wires. You can also use it to make beautiful wire-wrapped rings!
