I've tried making this bracelet twice. The pattern isn't my problem.
Has anyone experienced the "tube" collapsing and suddenly increasing the length by 100%??? If so, how do I prevent this???
If you are having a problem with the stitch collapsing, it is usually a tension issue. Make sure you are keeping your work tight, especially toward the end.

This really nice design looks easy. Once I get the hang of this stitch, I will make two of them.

I have to say, this bracelet is one of my "I MADE this" pieces. It looks very difficult but is pretty simple once you get the hang of the stitch, as another reviewer said. I made about 6 of these over 2 or 3 days last winter.
One tip: Be careful with the length. I was too generous on most of the ones I made and they were a bit too big once I added the clasps.

The directions were great. Once you get the hang of this stitch it is easy and comes out looking great. Love it.

African Helix Stitch
I did this stitch for a beading competition last year, using purple and black seed beads. I made a 17 inch necklace and it was fabulous! Thanks.. You make it easy to learn the stitch
