A Modern Gal's Earrings These earrings are flirty, sparkly and can be dressed up or down. Change up the color combinations to suit your personal style. Instructions:
-
Cut your 24 inches of chain into 6, four inch pieces. -
For your first earring, hold three of your six pieces together (with the ends mostly even to one another). Place the ends through a 3 x 3mm crimp. Then, somewhere near the center of the beading chain, fold it in half forming a neat loop in the chain. Then place the other three ends of the beading chain through the crimp as well. When you have carefully situated the beading chain in the crimp bead so that there is a neat loop at the top (a few milimeters in height) and all six ends of beading chain are hanging out of the other end in a slightly uneven tassle-like form, use your chain nose pliers to carefully crimp the crimp bead just one time. -
To embellish each strand of the tassle, simply use 2 x 2mm crimp beads as platforms for the crystals. Unlike an illusion necklace, on which we have to crimp on either side of a crystal, we only have to crimp underneath our crystals for these earrings, thanks to gravity. :) Just string your crystals on the beading chain in a semi-random pattern. Try to vary the colors and the placement of crystals. For example, on the outermost strand of my pair, the top crystal is padparadscha, however the next strand in starts with a crystal ab. -
When you are finished embellishing your tassel, simply open the eye of a french wire, hang your creation from it, and tightly secure the eye closed around it. You can do this with your chain nose pliers. Repeat the whole process for a second earring and enjoy! |
