A: The problem with galvanized beads is not that they tarnish like silver does, but that the finish can rub off over time and in reaction to acidity in the skin. I have a peyote bracelet I made with metallic bronze seed beads years ago that I wear very regularly and some of the metallic beads are beginning to blacken a bit. That being said, Miyuki is aware of this problem and does offer many of their galvanized seed beads with a Duracoat protective layer that prevents the finish from eroding. They are working to make all galvanized products with this Duracoat finish and we do carry many that already have the protective layer, this particular item being one of them.
